Peripheral Investigations and Research, LLC. was founded in 2024 by Michael K. Maynard. Prior to launching Peripheral, Michael served for over 9 years in law enforcement across various roles including patrol officer and detective. Michael has a deep background in research and investigations and has formal training and certifications in multiple disciplines including general investigations, interviews, gang and other violent crime investigations and crimes against children. Michael has advanced training in digital investigations to include computer crime investigations, online crimes against children investigations, social media investigations and digital forensics.

After a rewarding career in law enforcement, Michael joined a Christian non-profit foundation as a human services professional supporting the ministry’s group care homes. In this role he was the liaison between the group care parents and state agencies. Michael later transitioned into a data analytics and data storytelling role for the larger non-profit foundation. In this role, he partnered with teams across the non-profit to define their analytics strategy and execution approach while also helping shape their business outcomes through data analysis. Michael is a member of the Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Berry College and a master’s degree in criminal justice from American Military University. He is married to his college sweetheart and a dad to three young boys.
